TERBIFIN 250MG contains Terbinafine which belongs to Antifungal agents, used to treat fungal infections of the skin and nails. It acts by attacking and killing fungus which causes infection. This medicine has a broad spectrum of antifungal activity. At low concentrations it is fungicidal against dermatophytes, molds and certain dimorphic fungi. Terbinafine interferes with the production of ergosterol and causes a buildup of another substance called squalene in the fungal cell. This leads to a deficiency in ergosterol and to an intracellular accumulation of squalene, resulting in fungal cell death. Both actions cause the death of the fungus and elimination of the infection
